Travel tips for peace of mind
Activity schedules in different sectors:
In Barcelona, shops are usually open from Monday to Saturday, starting at 10 AM and closing between 8 and 9 PM. On Sundays, most shops are closed, except those located within the tourist area, which can open from 12 to 8 PM from May 5 to 24 and from October 1 to 14.
Meals are generally taken between 1 PM and 4 PM for lunch, and between 8 PM and 11 PM for dinner, typically consisting of a starter, main course, and dessert. A light snack is common around 5 or 6 PM.
Nightlife on weekends starts late, with party venues and clubs getting lively around 2 AM.
Dress code tips:
Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city influenced by European design trends. The seasons and climate play an important role in color choices and trends. Generally, modernity and comfort dominate the fashion. People don’t usually dress up unless it’s a special occasion.
As in other cities, there are cultural centers, leisure spots, restaurants, and shops that may restrict entry or require customers to dress appropriately. Due to the city’s humidity, natural and breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, and silk are preferred. Light-colored clothes are recommended in summer, while Mediterranean shades fade into winter tones.
In spring, don’t forget to bring a jacket and umbrella!
